‘Shadowed Waters V was painted in the autumn when it was quite dark, it was twilight, and the sun had set behind the far bank and created patches of shade and light. I really wanted the water to feel like it was moving towards you. The brush strokes in the painting start large and recede as the painting leads your eye further away.’
