A mid-twentieth century painted bust depicting the Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950).

This bust of the renowned Irish playwright, critic and political activist George Bernard Shaw, captures well his lively character and easily recognisable profile. It appears to depict his image from the 1920s and might possibly date to this time. It is probably a sole commission by an unknown artist as Shaw was depicted often throughout his life and to date another of this type seems not to have been recorded or found.
