George Armfield was a British artist specialising in oil paintings of dogs. Armfeld professed a tremendous love of animals. His commissions of hounds and horses were in high demand during his working life. This pair of oils is typical of his sporting art much of which includes the study of terriers and gun dogs in pursuit of their quarry.
