A pair of late eighteenth century landscapes, depicting English views with figures fishing by a lake and a mill house.
Oils on canvas in garved giltwood frames.

These oils are very close in execution to the work of John Rathbone (circa 1750–1807). Rathbone was an English artist who was born in Cheshire around the year 1750 and practised in London, London, and Preston, working as a landscape-painter in both oil and watercolour. He gained the soubriquet the ‘Manchester Wilson.’
