A Pair of 19th Century Qing Dynasty Moon Flasks
£1,950
SOLD
A fine pair of Qing Dynasty porcelain moon flasks, the bodies having circular cartouches containing figurative scenes, set upon yellow grounds with polychrome foliate decoration.
These elegant pilgrim vases with decorated handles are vibrant in colour and well balanced in shape. Their large bulbous centres hold round panels with animated decoration. The pair was awarded the name ‘moon flasks’ due to its shape, which is reminiscent of the satellite.
