A Large Scale 19th Century Qing Dynasty Famille Verte Vase

A 19th century famille verte vase of great scale, the body decorated with floral and figurative scenes on a baluster body with trumpet stem.

The famille verte colour palette was adopted in the Kangxi Period (1662–1722) and specifically uses green and iron red with other overglaze colours on a white ground. It was the precursor to the famille rose which saw the introduction of pink tones. This vase was made in the nineteenth century and takes its inspiration directly from Kangxi form and decoration.
