A fine and impressive late 18th century parquetry commode of good scale, the top, sides and three drawers all with geometric parquetry veneers in walnut and fruitwoods, the whole raised upon square tapering legs.
This unusual commode is decorated with a geometric mosaic of wooden veneers in contrasting colours. This decoration is not limited to the body of the piece, but extends to almost all of its surfaces. The brass hardware on its drawers is simple, so as not to distract from the drama created by the veneers.
