Julia Trickey

Julia is an award winning botanical artist and experienced tutor based in the UK, whose glowing watercolours depict the beauty and detail of nature. She is particularly drawn to specimens that are less than perfect, especially autumnal leaves, seed heads and fading flowers, often painting them much larger than in life.

Exhibiting regularly, Julia has been awarded four RHS gold medals amongst many other awards. She tutors weekly classes near the beautiful historic city of Bath, other workshops further afield and, more recently, online workshops via Zoom.

She has produced resources for aspiring botanical artists, written articles for a number of national art magazines as well as contributing to a number of books.

In 2014, Julia illustrated sixteen Royal Mail stamps, issued in three sets under the title of ‘British Flora’.

Julia is a Fellow of the Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society.
