Wayne’s Wild West – Andrew Sinclair

Andrew Sinclair: ‘When the cowboys came and rowed out and made the Wild West, they destroyed something vital: an incredible Indian culture. I learnt of it from the Navajos and they included in a human shape, or the shape of the future, the whole of the landscape. In this case, it is a skull with the landscape behind it within the skull and in the cage, the reservation that they were put in.’
