A 19th Century Qing Dynasty Celadon Green Vase
£2,700
SOLD
A late 19th century celadon green crackle glazed vase, of good scale and form.
Crazing or crackling glazes are a deliberate decorative cracking of the surface of ceramics. achieved by heating and subsequently cooling a ceramic object. If, during this cooling process, the glazing of the vase contracts more quickly than its ceramic base, this results in horizontal and vertical crackling, adding a highly decorative effect to the even colours of the celadon.
